The Trainings
education for yoga teachers & curious practitioners
Breathing is the first and last gesture of life, but it is much more than a simple automatic movement programmed for our survival. This weekend workshop is an invitation to get curious about our breath: we will (re)discover specific ancient pranayama practices, while learning about what modern science can teach us about them.
What to expect: 5h of practice + 4h of theory + 3h of teaching methodology
guided practices (asana & pranayama)
brief history and philosophy of pranayama
breathing: how and why?
understanding biomechanics of the breath
a modern view of the bandhas (internal locks)
understanding various pranayama and their variations/adaptations
how to sequence pranayama, teaching methodology + Q&A
This training is for you if:
working with your breath brings you anxiety or/and insecurity
you would like to be better able to support beginners in their breathing journey
you don’t feel equipped enough to include pranayama in your classes or personal practice
you are open to go back to the ‘basics’ and reshape your understanding of breathing
you would like to develop your language and move beyond the common cue ‘take a deep breath in & out’
you would like to better understand the intricate workings of the nervous system
you want to learn how to use poses and props to better inform the breath
Schedule: Friday → 17h30-19h30 //Saturday & Sunday → 8h30-13h30 (schedule might be subject to slight changes.)
My pranayama practice began over a decade ago. I started with a deep sense of insecurity about exploring my own breath, even though I was already captivated by it.
However, I grew frustrated when I realized that I was often introduced to complex techniques right from the start, without a clear understanding of the biomechanics of breathing or even the basics of proper breathing. It felt as though anything not labeled as "advanced" was considered boring or useless — spoiler alert: it’s not.
This frustration led me to start over from the very beginning. I delved into the simplest practices, which ended up teaching me far more than the advanced techniques I had initially been exposed to. As I continued to study, read and attend various trainings, I slowly realized that my intuitive, gradual approach to pranayama might actually be a more sensitive and inclusive path for many others.
This is just one of the many insights I hope to share during this weekend’s immersion. You can expect a training that takes a progressive and personalized approach, where less is often more, and simplicity is key. We'll focus on the biomechanics of breathing, explore over 10 different techniques and their variations, and learn how to practice and teach in a smart, progressive, and inclusive way.

12h Pranayama - The Subtle Breath, 16-18 October 2026
15h Smart & Creative Sequencing, 28-29th March 2026 (new dates TBA)
>> not your average yoga sequencing training :)
After almost a decade of full time teaching experience, many various practices and trainings under my belt, I now feel ready and confident to share all my tips and tricks in regards to Smart & Creative Sequencing (and more generally speaking, Teaching).
Like most of us (if not all of us?), I started my teaching career repeating the words of my teachers - without necessarily understanding the why behind the how (oops!), copying their sequences and other so-called 'methods' without daring to even critically think about their relevance.
After many years of trainings combined with experience & personal research, I am quite proud of what I am able to offer in my classes, both in terms of intelligent movement and genuine presence. I became very clear on what my intentions are, how I can convey my values within my teaching, while becoming quite passionate about all things inclusivity.
If you love intelligent movement and would like to be more confident and clear on who you are as a teacher, this might be the perfect training for you.
Especially if you would like to…:
move away from a performative way of practicing / teaching that doesn't entirely reflect your values or personality
learn how to create fresh, crisp, yet inclusive sequences that resonate with most bodies and minds
move beyond flexibility & discover that sweet spot where you feel both strong and flexible
incorporate movement science into your yoga practice / teaching in order to make it more sustainable, empowered and unique
offer more room for self-agency and self-enquiry in your classes
infuse your own personality in your classes with a renewed sense of confidence
know how to add-in creativity not only through variations and transitions but also through words, speed, presence & more
What you can expect:
identify your goals and intention both as a teacher / practitioner more clearly
a blend of classical yoga practices & modern movement through a scientific lens
theory made practical on stretching science, functional anatomy and physiology
better understanding of the concepts of mobility, stability, flexibility
better understanding of the concepts of proprioception and interoception, and how the way you cue matters in that regard
refreshed sequencing skills to offer practices that are adaptable, well-rounded, non-dogmatic and that actually nourish your nervous system
time for questions, group exchanges and practical exercises
General information:
Price: 400.- early bird (valid until 31.12.2025) / 450.- afterwards

50h Embodied Slowness Yin Yoga Training in Bern, 27 Feb-1March & 13-15 March 2026 (new dates TBA)
Sarah and Valentine are thrilled to invite you to their 50h Yin YTT, which will take place in beautiful and spacious Yoga Atelier (Bern, Mattenhof).
Yin yoga is a slower paced style of yoga developed in the late 70’s, influenced by Hatha Yoga, Taoism and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It involves longer held poses (passive static stretches) that are typically held for 2-6 minutes, depending on individual needs and intention. A yin practice can potentially help in areas such as nervous system regulation and flexibility, mindfulness, body & breath awareness, pain perception, sense of agency and deep rest.
Our intention is to create points of interests, rather than absolutes. This training it an invitation to be discerning, have a good critical thinking approach, be flexible about unlearning and relearning and refresh what you already know.
